A large fire in a commercial building in downtown Los Angeles raged for hours Friday morning, damaging multiple buildings.
Capt. Cody Weireter said what began in “an outside storage area” spread to five buildings, four commercial and one vacant apartment building.
Firefighters also used a robot to attack “deep-seated pockets of fire” in areas that were too dangerous for them, Weireter told KTLA.
One firefighter suffered a knee injury.
Crews remain at the scene mopping up and checking for hotspots.
